♥ City of Bones ♥

I do not know why there's a period of time where I like books very much. I kept on searching for nice English books to read. Maybe due to the influence from Twilight. Haha =D It's nice and excited to read books which you like it very much.

Another interesting book that I would like to share with is City of Bones. City of Bones is the first book in the Mortal Instruments quartet, a young adult urban fantasy series set in New York written by Cassandra Clare. This series of books achieves #8 on the New York Times Best Seller list in April 2007. It received considerable praise from Stephenie Meyer saying : "A story world I love to live in. Beautiful.", Publishers Weekly, Locus and etc.

Main Characters:
Clary Fray

A 16 years old Shawdowhunter but doesn't know about it. She was raised by her mother ans she had a bright red hair. She has a remarkable power, in which she can draw new runes that are not in the Gray book. Clary embarks on a quest to help her mother while adjusting to life as Shadowhunter. She fall in love with Jace Wayland who everyone thought that he is her brother.





Jace Wayland

The best Shadowhunter among his age. He is orphaned at a young age by the murderer of his father. And now he lives with the Lightwoods and Hodge Starkweather at the Institute in New York City. He has golden hair, eyes, and skin making him popular among girls although he does not have a serious relationship before. He is arrogant but kind in heart. His name comes from his initials, J.C., Jonathan Christopher.





Simon Lewis

Clary's best friend and is in love with her though Clary does not appear to have same feelings for him. He shows partial interest to Isabella Lightwood. And he became a vampire.









Isabelle Lightwood

Jace's adopted sister, beautiful and abnoxious and also a Shadow hunter. She has black hair, black eyes, being tall, incredibly beautiful. She always carry her silver-gold whip.








Alec Lightwood

Isabelle's birth brother. Though he is a Shadowhunter, she had never killed a demon. He has black hair and blue eyes. Alec is gay and is in love with Jace. He dislikes Clary because Jace is in love with her and not him.








Lucian Graymark "Luke Garroway"

A werewolf, best friend of Clary's mother and seems to be in love with her mother. Once a Shadowhunter and a member of the Circle which was started by Valentine.









Valentine Morgenstern

Powerful and evil Shadowhunter. He turns up after several years when he was supposedly dead and attempts to steal the Mortal Cup from Jocelyn (Clary's mother). He reveals that Jace and Clary are his children.

Magnus Bane

Bisexual High Warlock of Brooklyn, has a romantic interest in Alec Lightwood. He wears a lot of glitter.

Hodge Starkweather

Isabelle, Alec and Jace's tutor. A curse made by the Clave keeps him trapped inside the walls of the Institute, punishment for his days as a member of the Circle.

Joselyn Fray/Fairchild

Clary's mother, a Shadowhunter in hunting due to her involvement in the Circle. She was Valentine's wife. Hid the Mortal Cup and put herself in coma by drinking a potion to prevent Valentine from gaining the Mortal Cup.


This book is nice to read and the pictures were just a fanmade actors and actresses. But, there is a City of Bones Trailer in youtube. Hope you all enjoy this movie in the future and/or enjoy reading this book. =D
